Oxford Brookes University remains the leading modern university
Sunday Times University Guide 2011 announced that Oxford Brookes University remains the leading modern University for the tenth year running, going up 3 places to 47th out of 121 ranked institutions. Oxford Brookes is also one of five institutions shortlisted for the Sunday Times University of the Year award.
According to the Sunday Times:
“Oxford Brookes remains the institution to beat in the modern university sector. It has finished top among those universities created in 1992 or later for the past 10 years, kept there by a strong combination of outstanding teaching, strong research and, latterly, students happy to sing the praises of both in the annual national student survey (NSS).The university is unlike any other modern institution in its demographic and academic profile. No fewer than 24 subjects were rated excellent for teaching under the formal system of assessments dismantled in the past decade, putting the university on a par with many universities with many more years under their belts.”
