The Hungarian Consulate will require IBS's Acceptance letter that certifies student status, accommodation in the Residence Hall, health insurance for the first year of studies and English skills, but besides the Acceptance letter they require proof of a solid financial background (enough money for one year stay in Hungary on the bank account of the student and for the travel costs), a valid passport, school certificates, ID photos etc.

Information for non-EU citizens coming from outside Hungary

Citizens of non-European countries have to apply personally for a student residence permit at the nearest Hungarian Consulate. After the interview it usually takes several weeks to get a visa. If  the Consulate grants a visa, you will get a type D visa that is valid for a single entry to Hungary and after entering Hungary you have 30 days to go to the Immigration Office in Budapest to receive your residence permit.

After IBS grants admission to an applicant (by checking the required documents) we email you our proforma invoice. Due to the strict visa regulations Non-EU citizens have to pay for the first year of studies with the one-off registration fee in one amount (5900 Euro on BA programmes, except the BAAM programme, where 6700 Euro are to be paid, 9600 Euro on the Master programme, 4700 Euro on the Intensive English Language programme).

Please email the visa refusal document to IBS and your tuition fee will be refunded after deducting the DHL delivery fee. The registration fee will NOT be refunded. The Residence Hall payment will be refunded after deducting 190 Euro.
