One of our main goals at the Career Office is to assist students in finding the placement position that meets their interests and where they can synthesise academics with practice. To achive this goal we provide the following services:
Captain test and career guidance
Competence assessment: IBS is using a competence-assessment system developed by Jensen International Inc., one of the leading human-resource consultancy firms in the world. The system measures the personality, work-capacity, intellectual capabilities, field of interest and behavioural traits of the test-taker. The resulting report gives an accurate guidance to the student concerning the jobs he/she can succeed in and the fields in which he/she needs to improve in order to remain successful in the chosen company/job.
Career guidance (coaching): Based on the test-results, competence-profiles are prepared for each student, who can then analyze their results with trained professionals within the framework of a group discussion. Here a plan is drawn up for competence-development and advice is given on career-choice.
On-line information
The Career Office maintains an interactive website – that can be accessed through the IBS Intranet - where we provide information and assistance for the Placement Year. Placement positions and job ads advertized by our corporate partners can be found here as well.
After registering in the Student Database of the Career Office students will be able to search our interactive, online database for available placement positions, full-time or part-time jobs or browse through the list of companies that we are in contact with. Here they can also find the description of some typical placement positions.
BIG DAY - IBS Job Fair
We have been organizing a job-fair exclusively for IBS students for five years, the day of companies called ’Big Day’ is held at the end of April every year. More and more companies participate at this traditional event each year, with over 30 exhibitors at the 2009 fair. The Big Day is an excellent opportunity both for the companies and the students to present themselves and exchange information during an informal chat. The exhibitors have the opportunity to give presentations and conduct on-site interviews.
